Where the spirit of improvisation and the allure of the unexpected collide.
Continuum

Claudio Suriano and his international ensemble explore jazz, blending improvisation with rhythmic interplay, evocative textures, and cinematic soundscapes.
Rooted in the jazz tradition, the ensemble opens itself to unexpected influences such as psychedelic, electronic, and experimental music.
The sonic space that emerges is dynamic — composition and improvisation coexist with remarkable ease.
The Idea
Continuum continues the compositional and performance research begun with the album “Earth Calling.” Its starting point is an unconventional instrument: the hybrid guitar. On this instrument, guitar strings and bass strings coexist, steering the music in directions a standard guitar could never inspire. The aim of this research is to build a solid, dynamic rhythmic foundation and memorable compositions. The drums play with freedom and inventiveness, while the two saxophones explore the melodic and harmonic landscape with conviction.
The Story
This project debuted in January 2024 with the release of “Earth Calling.” The album was presented live with concerts in Denmark, England, and Finland.
The single “West Coast Sun” aired for over a year on Danish national radio station DR P8 Jazz.
Work on “Continuum” began in late 2024, when the tracks were composed and developed in the studio. This material was previewed at Råhuset in Copenhagen in March 2026, at Medimex 2026, and in Andria. The recording session will take place at the end of August 2026 at Studie B in Copenhagen.

The Future
Beyond returning to perform at the jazz clubs that have hosted us in the past, the priority is to bring this music on tour in Italy starting in the second half of 2027.
An important factor at this stage is the potential support of JazzDanmark, which could cover a large part of the transport costs for our whole band, based between Copenhagen and Malmö.
